Treasure on the Mississippi
Boating & Fishing

The Mississippi River rolls by Cassville as it has for thousands of years and the locals spend much time on the river. Boating, whether it is canoeing on the backwaters or speed boating on the main channel, is a favorite past time. Visitors to the Cassville area can also canoe or tube on the scenic Grant River. Fishing is also a relaxing way to pass the time. Catfish, walleye, perch, bass, crappies, and blue gills are all plentiful in the Mississippi. Cassville has a new handicap accessible pier for all fishing enthusiasts to enjoy. Tackle, fishing licenses and bait can be purchased in several places in the area.

Boat docks are available for water enthusiasts. There is a wonderful new boat launch at Riverside Park. A recent grant made the 2 new docks and 3 ramps possible. There are also 3 transient docks along the banks for your boating pleasure. Showers and rest rooms are also available. Downtown Cassville is within walking distance with its shops and eateries. The area bed & breakfasts and other lodging (Here we need to fix this line to coincide with the lodging link-take out B & B) establishments offer pick up service or convenient boat docks for visitors. Boat rentals, tubing, and canoe rentals can be found in the Cassville Area.

Boat Launch Passes are available at BP Amoco LLC, Village Clerk’s Office, and Vogt’s Town Pump.
